Don Bono was born and raised in Chicago as one of six children.  As a child, he spent most of his time off by myself drawing pictures.  He would draw on sidewalks, building walls, garages, bathrooms - anywhere he could find empty space.  Most of his drawings are in the homes of relatives and friends.  For many years, he never sold any of my work - preferring instead to give them as gifts.

In 1975, he designed a poster of Chicago and presented it to the mayor, who proclaimed it "The Chicago Poster".  Tens of thousands sold at festivals and art fairs, and it was exclusively represented by Billy Hork Galleries. Don's posters are now in restaurants, offices, dorm rooms and homes across America, as well as The Chicago Bar and Grill in London.

Don's drawings include movie stars in their most compelling and memorable roles, such as Robert DiNero in Deerhunter, Heat, Godfather, and of course Taxi Driver.  He has also drawn Jack Nicholson as the Joker, as well as the famous "here's Johnny" scene.  The sports roster is growing every day, including Ali's famous knockout, Walter Payton, Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams, Mike Ditka, Joe Montana, Sammy Sosa, and of course Michael Jordan.  Additionally, he has drawn entertainers such as Mike Jagger, Tina Turner, Keith Richards, Madonna, Cher, Britany Spears, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Dean Martin, and the list goes on.
